Jordan Pruitt Reveals Disney Allowed Producer To Molest Her At A Young Age In New Lawsuit!
It is not uncommon for child stars to grow up and go down the wrong path in life. This is often the result of the way that they were taken advantage of when they were younger which is exactly what Jordan Pruitt is accusing Disney of allowing to happen to her.
Jordan, who used to be signed to Hollywood Records and was a contestant on The Voice, revealed that producer Keith Thomas molested her when she was just 14-years-old. She took to Twitter to say that she had filed a lawsuit under the name Jane Doe but now she wants to share her story.
The lawsuit says that Disney allowed the producer to work with her alone where he groomed her to be a victim of sexual abuse.
Pruitt explained to Variety: 'Unfortunately, these large companies are primarily concerned with sales, money and charts. Too often they fall short of protecting the young talent that they are ‘supposed’ to be caretakers for. Time and time again we see people in positions of power fail us. I couldn’t be more disappointed in how Disney treats their underage talent like cash cows.'
Jordan is coming forward because she says that this isn't uncommon in the Nashville music community and she wants to prevent it from happening to other people. She was scared to speak out in fear of tarnishing her reputation or not being believed.
The singer went on to say: 'It is extremely taboo for anyone to speak about sexual abuse, misconduct and exploitation of minors in the ordinarily conservative and genteel South. Over and above decorum, many fear the repercussions of coming forward for example (getting blacklisted from the industry, losing work, having YOUR reputation tarnished). To many victims, coming forward feels shameful. Even though the #metoo movement has been very powerful for many, there is still much work that needs to be done. No one should ever be punished for telling the truth and seeking justice, period.'
The documents allege that Keith not only groomed her, but he did the same to her mother by gaining her trust in order to get more alone time with her. He also made remarks about her looks, prevented contact with boys her age, and told her that he loved her among other disturbing things.
Jordan isn't the only former Disney star to say that she was sexually abused while working for the company, Bella Thorne has too . However, Thorne did not name names.
