John Legend Addresses The Kanye West Controversy: 'I Understand What Kanye Sees In Trump'
John Legend is all set to grace the cover of the Wall Street Journal's November issue. He had an interview with the publication, and he spoke on various topics including Kanye West.
John made it very clear that he does not want to participate in conversations which include Kanye's mental state.
'A lot of people have tried to armchair diagnose [Kanye],' he shared as reported by Hot New Hip Hop, and continued, 'but I leave it to him and his doctors to discuss what’s going on in his brain.'
A whileagoJohn confronted Kanye about his controversial support and love that he used to have for President Donald Trump.
'Clearly, I disagreed with some of the things he was saying, and I was worried that his saying it might empower some of the wrong forces, might be demoralizing for people who looked up to him and thought of him as a leader,' John explained.
He continued and said 'I understand what Kanye sees in Trump, and I think it’s a reaction to his personality and his marketing panache and don’t-give-a-f—ness. But my point to him was that when you wear that hat when you appear to be endorsing him, you’re endorsing his policies as well, all of his rhetoric and not just the parts you like.'
John also revealed that people keep asking him whether he'd like to run for office and he made it very clear that he doesn't - at least not now.
It was reported just recently that John and his wife are now ready to get over what Kanye might have said in the past, after Kim Kardashian's hubby said that he plans on distancing himself from politics from now on and practically dropped support for Trump.
