Star Wars: The Last actor star John Boyega took to social media today to slam all of the franchise’s haters who like to harass cast members online. Here is what he had to say!
The 26 year old star’s tweets followed Kelly Marie Tran’s decision to delete her Instagram account as she was sick and tired of having to deal with all kinds of negative comments and trolling.
But she was not the only one who whipped her account due to the online harassment.
Back in 2016, Daisy Ridley also left social media after she had posted about gun control.
‘To the majority of the Star Wars fans thank you for supporting us and putting yourselves in our shoes. You understand that there’s a process so much appreciated!’ Boyega wrote.
‘If you do not like Star Wars or the characters understand that there are decisions makers and harassing the actors/actresses will do nothing. You are not entitled to politeness when your approach is rude. Even if you paid for a ticket!’ the man said in another tweet.
This month, Tran deleted all her Insta posts after she allegedly got sexist, racist and generally hateful comments on her profile.
‘On social media, a few unhealthy people can cast a big shadow on the wall, but over the past four years, I have met lots of real fellow SW fans. We like and dislike stuff, but we do it with humor, love, and respect. We are the VAST majority, we are having fun and doing just fine,’ Johnson wrote.
