If former Vice President Joe Biden goes up against President Donald Trump in the 2020 race for the White House, things might get physical.
On Tuesday, Biden sat down for an interview MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski where he opened up about a potential debate with Trump who is famous for being raw, act like a bully, and lie while on the stage.
Former President Barack Obama’s friend was asked about not attacking Senator Kamala Harris, and he responded by: “I’m used to bullies. I know it will be an ugly campaign, I know it will not be an honorable campaign he’ll run, but I’m not backing down at all from him. I’ve never had any trouble taking on anyone from Trump to Putin to Xi Jinping to anyone else.”
Biden went on to say: “I’d say, ‘C’ mon Donald, c’ mon man. How many pushups do you want to do here, pal? I mean, jokingly ‘, run with me, man.”
Biden also revealed that he will not go low and play dirty: “I’m not going to get down in the dirt with him. That’s the only place he knows how to fight. I’m just going to continue to talk about what he’s doing, why it’s so damaging to America, and – as my mother would say – I’m not going to take any guff from him.”
He continued with: “We have led the world by the power of our example, and what presidents say, they’re the face of America, like it or not. The idea that Trump says and does the things he does is despicable.”
Biden then spoke about the four progressive congresswomen — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) who were told to go back to the country they came from.
Biden praised Ocasio-Cortez by saying she is smart and added: “I think the freshmen, particularly AOC, is smart as hell; she is really a value-added to the party in terms of her pushing the edges. I would not presume to give her advice. AOC is brilliant; the other three women are really smart.”
Biden concluded by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who has been feuding with the four congresswomen: “Nancy knows what she’s doing. Nancy understands that… you know, there’s a sum total in the Congress of 535 folks. You have to get them all moving in the right direction.”
Biden is leading the polls at the moment.
