With Counting On star Jinger Duggar being nearly eight months pregnant, we are just weeks away from meeting the next member of the Duggar family. And, fans of the show are so excited that they have already picked out a name for the new baby.
Jinger and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, will be welcoming a daughter in July, and some Reddit users believe they have the perfect choice for the little girl’s name.
“I can see them naming their daughter Abigail,” says Reddit user canmu. “Abby is cute and modern-ish but also traditional, and a strong biblical woman. I love the name Abigail.”
Another fan thought this idea was a safe bet because the name is so popular.
As In Touch Weekly reports, it is true that the name is on trend. Abigail has tripled in popularity over the past three decades according to BabyCenter, and it currently stands as the 15th most popular baby girl name. But, back in 2005, it was even higher on the list with a number four ranking.
The Redditors are also right when they say that Abigail is a strong Biblical name. In the religious text, Abigail is the beautiful and intelligent wife – then widow – of Nabal, and she then becomes the third wife of King David. The name comes from the Hebrew translation of “the father’s joy.”
There is a good possibility that Duggar and Vuolo will choose a Biblical name for their first daughter, but some think that the couple might find inspiration elsewhere. Specifically, from their favorite Texas hangout.
On a recent Duggar thread, some fans suggested that the reality stars would opt for the name Magnolia after Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines’ popular shopping destination Magnolia Market.
It’s a cute idea, but most have a hard time believing that Duggar and Vuolo would name their daughter after a store, even though the entire Duggar family has been visiting the silos regularly over the past few months.
This past week Duggar revealed to fans that she is 31 weeks pregnant and noted that the baby is the size of a pineapple. Throughout her pregnancy, the 24-year-old has given frequent baby bump updates and always compares her baby’s current size with a fruit or vegetable.
