Jimmy Kimmel delivered a half-hearted apology regarding his feud with Fox News host, Sean Hannity after Hannity began trolling him on Twitter for making fun of Melania Trump’s accent. The reason for his apology? Supposedly, the Jimmy Kimmel Live host said it was due to attacks made on his family, including his wife and infant son.
Jimmy said in a statement that, while he had a lot of fun sending insults toward Hannity, he wasn’t adding much to the moral fabric of the country.
Kimmel said he “realized the level of vitriol” from both sides of the political spectrum does nothing good for anybody, including his family, and the nation at large.
Kimmel said that the comments against his family and baby boy are genuinely “vile” and “shocking,” and hopes that the perpetrators will re-evaluate their words, as Kimmel will do the same.

As it was previously reported, the argument came to its peak when Jimmy posted a clip of Melania reading a children’s story on the 6th of April. The host made fun of her accent, notably, her mispronunciation of words like, “this,” and “that.”
In response, Hannity pointed to Jimmy’s past as a comedian, including his stint on Comedy Central’s The Man Show, one where Kimmel played many jokes that some found offensive. Sean alluded to a skit where Kimmel propositioned women for sex with a fake but erect penis.
Hannity compared Jimmy to Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced producer who supposedly raped, assaulted, and harassed a plethora of women in Hollywood.
Additionally, Kimmel faced backlash for making fun of Hannity using a supposedly homophobic reference. At the end of his statement, Jimmy half-heartedly apologized to Sean and sarcastically said he hopes Hannity would continue his “newly-found advocacy for women, (and) immigrants,” and would fight against “sexual harassment and perversion.”
