Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin recently had a tearful reunion in front of the Real Housewives of New York cameras, and many thought this would clear the way for Zarin to return to the show. But even though she has appeared in various cameos, there is no talk of bringing her back permanently. Are producers disrespecting her by not making a long-term offer?
Apparently friends of the former Housewives star have been lobbying for her to come back. Since Zarin has made multiple appearances, it seems as if Bravo is getting her for free without any plans of making a deal, and they are using the drama in her life without making her a cast member.
Zarin has no interest in being used by the network and doesn’t like the way the current situation is making her feel.
“It’s not about the money, it’s about the respect,” said a source close to Zarin. “To keep her coming to the show without any long-term offer — it feels disrespectful.”
Since leaving the show in 2011 after four seasons, Zarin appeared once last year and filmed scenes around her husband’s recent funeral.
The network heavily featured the fan favorite in a trailer last season, but she only showed up in one episode.
I’m sitting around going thru photos and put together a collage of @bethennyfrankel with my family. Bobby gave me the best 1 liners and a few come to mind. “ 1 more that’s it!”and “here’s to those who wish us well and those who don’t can go $&@! Themselves!” Please share your favorite 1 liners below. Miss B…thanks for the memories tonight ❤️Jill
Zarin left the show because of a long-running feud with Frankel, but the two recently reconciled and have become friends again.
An insider reveals that the Frankel has been there for Zarin since she lost her husband – more than any other housewife – by spending a lot of time with her, sending her food, and calling her every day.
Bravo will feature their reunion in an episode this upcoming season because Zarin invited the cameras to capture footage and memorialize her late husband.
On a recent podcast, Zarin said that she has good days and bad days, and it comes in waves. She said that she isn’t sure how she can go on without him, because “without Bobby, there’s no Jill.”
If one good thing did happen from her husband’s passing, it’s that she was able to renew her friendship with Frankel – something that she has wanted for a long time.
Bobby founded Zarin Fabrics and was also a real estate developer. Doctors diagnosed him with thyroid cancer in 2009, which led to radioactive iodine treatments and thyroid removal.
However, in 2013, the cancer spread to his lungs, and in 2016, Jill announced that her husband had a brain tumor.
Last August, the couple celebrated his “miraculous recovery” after he spent some time in the hospital. But, he eventually lost his battle with cancer earlier this month.
Jill Zarin has not publicly commented on her desire to return to RHONY.
