The singer got candid about something very personal in front of her fans attending her London concert last night! Furthermore, her boyfriend, Channing Tatum, who she has been dating since last month, was also there!
Between songs, Jessie J told everyone that after talking to a fertility doctor, she learned that she is not able to have babies of her own.
According to E! News, the singer stated: ‘So 4 years ago, I was told I could not have children, and it is OK, I am going to have kids, trust me! When the doctors told me, my reaction was like, ‘Oh hell nooooooo.’’
She went on: ‘And I do not tell you guys for sympathy, I am one of the millions of women and men who have gone through this and that will go through this, and it cannot become something that defines us.’
As her little speech preceded her performance of the song Four Letter Word, she explained: ‘But I wanted to write this song for myself in a moment of pain and sadness. But, also to give me joy and give other people something they can listen to at that moment when it gets really hard. So, if you have ever experienced anything with this or have seen someone else go through it, or if you have lost a child, then please know you’re not alone in your pain.’
Her new boyfriend, actor Channing Tatum admired her courage, writing on social media: ‘This woman poured her heart out onstage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there, really got to witness something special. Wow.’
Jessie J has mentioned her infertility issues before – earlier this month during yet another show, she told the concertgoers that while it’d be really difficult for her to have children, she is still determined to win against those odds one day.
Hopefully, she’ll get to see her motherhood dream come true!
