Jessica Simpson and her sister Ashlee Simpson are no stranger to reality television. In fact, the early 2000’s was a time where both were well known for stints on their own reality television shows. Fast forward over a decade and Jessica was shocked to hear that Ashlee was prepping to go back in front of the camera for a new reality show with husband Evan Ross, who is an actor and singer, as well as the youngest child of music legend Diana Ross.
The former singer and designer said that she was truly surprised that sister Ashlee wanted to do another reality show because “you’re mic-ed for everything.”
Jessica even asked Ashlee if she was sure she wanted to expose her life, her marriage and herself in this way again.
Ashlee responded that she feels very confident and is at a place in her life where she believes it’s the right time.
The show, Ashlee + Evan, follows the couple, their joint music projects and their family. It will run for a short 6 episode stint.
Despite her sister’s willingness to do another reality show, Jessica doesn’t feel the same way about doing one herself.
Jessica says she is also very confident in where she is in her life but knows that there’s a side to exposing so much of your life and the judgment of others that she isn’t really interested in dealing with.
Jessica had a very particular experience filming a reality show with her then-husband Nick Lachey in 2003.
Jessica has lived a much quieter life in the 15 years since then, she got remarried after the split with Lachey, launched a highly successful fashion line and had a couple of kids.
As far as Ashlee and Evan are concerned, they’re ready to emerge from the shadows and really highlight the type of partnership they are and the type of love they possess.
