Jessica Chastain is an accomplished actress that manages to stay out of the celebrity tabloids and rumor mill quite effortlessly. When she is discussed, it is almost always because of her immense talent, the impressive roles she takes on and her outspoken activism. One of the most recognizable redheads in the industry, the Oscar-nominated actress is a standout amongst her Hollywood peers.
In her private and personal life, she likes to keep things as understated and as quiet as possible. Last year, she married Italian Count Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo and recently opened up about their relationship for the first time.
Chastain believes marriage is different for every single person who enters into it.
She was told to be mindful and careful navigating the first year of marriage as so many warned her that it would be difficult.
Despite these warnings, she’s had the opposite experience in that she feels the first year has been “incredible.”
She even admits that being married makes her feel “more happy” in some “strange way.”
The actress admits that getting married wasn’t even really on her radar and for the longest time she didn’t think it was in the cards for her.
So much so that when she first met her husband, the fact that she wasn’t interested in marriage was conveyed to him quite early on.
However, her opinion and mind about the concept of marriage shifted as the two fell in love.
Chastain, 41, praises her husband by calling him a “spectacular human being” and gushes that she couldn’t be more content and happy in her life.
Despite his title in Italy, the couple doesn’t spend much time talking about his familial lineage and reputation. Being a Count, he has rich roots in that country but like her status as one of Hollywood’s leading ladies, it doesn’t impact their relationship.
