Jennifer Love Hewitt took to social media yesterday to jokingly apologize to all of her followers for her failed red carpet look. The 39-year-old actress was in attendance at Fox’s Upfront presentation in NYC the day before.
As fans may already know, Hewitt is set to return to the network as a 911 operator and the sister of Oliver Stark’s Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley on 9-1-1.
Jennifer looked pretty classy and chic in her black pantsuit but looking back, the actress is convinced her minimal look was a terrible choice for the event.

Hewitt said on her Instagram Story: ‘Yesterday was the Fox upfront, which is amazing… anyway, so we go to the upfront yesterday, and nobody tells me the day’s going to be like 12 hours long and the humidity’s going to be almost 100 percent in New York so I have to apologize. Wearing a black suit, not a good idea, that is A. B, not wearing enough hairspray and teasing in my hair, also a bad idea.’
‘I just have to apologize for how, like, wrecked I look in all the pictures that came out,’ she added, laughing.
The star explained that by the time she reached the red carpet, she was already ‘melting.’
Not only that but she also blamed her time away from the spotlight.
According to her, it seemed ‘like I had completely forgotten I am an actress in this business who’s supposed to look like, you know, baller status when you step on the red carpet.’
The beauty has not attended any red carpet event for the past four years or so.
She also revealed that she decided to bring 2-year-old son Atticus and 4-year-old daughter Autumn along to New York and she was running on way too little sleep.
‘It was my first time traveling with toddlers. Honestly, I apologize. I should’ve really gotten it together,’ she told ET.
Do you think her red carpet fashion was Okay or not?
