Jennifer Lawrence has just joined Twitter despite the fact that she’s always made it clear that she has no interest in being on social media! However, it was all for a good cause!
The actress really wanted to use the voice and influence she has as a celebrity to bring awareness to the Black Lives Matter movement amid protests happening all over the world.
Lawrence took to her newly made Twitter account that is in partnership with Represent.Us to share a long statement in which she expressed her support to BLM.
The star who has made it a point of not having social media for years, will most likely use the account to help achieve justice in the United States.
Her very first post was a video in which she talked about corruption and how it’s ruined the criminal justice system in America.
Her second tweet was the letter, in which she promises to seek justice for Breonna Taylor, the 26 year old who was killed by police in her own bed in the middle of the night back in March.
Despite her being shot 8 times for no reason, arrests in this case are still to be made so many stars and citizens have been speaking out in her name, trying to bring her justice.

As mentioned before, Lawrence has always been against getting social media but this situation was worth it.
Back in 2014, she vowed never to create a Twitter account during an interview at the time.
‘I will never get Twitter. I’m not very good on my phone or technology. I can’t really keep up with my emails, so the idea of Twitter’s unthinkable to me. It is like this weird enigma people talk about.’
In 2018, however, she admitted to having a secret Finsta [fake Instagram]: ‘I watch, but I don’t speak. There’s always so much backlash. So many people are listening, paying attention and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything.’
