Two years ago, Jennifer Garner separated from her husband Ben Affleck after reports of infidelity and alcohol abuse. Now, the actress is opening up about the split and admits she still has things to work through, but is she finally ready to move on and date again?
Garner spoke with news.com.au and revealed that the wounds from the divorce are obviously still raw.
“I would not have chosen this life for myself or for my kids. I would not choose to be single or be in this position. It’s something that we are working through. I haven’t been on a date, and I am not interested in dating,” she says while shaking her head. “People want to set me up, and I am just like, ‘No thank you!’”

The former couple remains friends and continues to co-parent their three children – Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Sam, 5 – together. With two daughters to raise, Garner has had to carefully navigate her way through the conversations she has with them about men. She says not to lump all men into the same category, and not all of them have done something awful. It is important that everyone receives due process.
This is especially important for Jennifer Garner, considering the sexual misconduct accusations that have recently come out against Affleck. The Justice League actor recently admitted that he needs to evaluate his own behavior and think about how he treats people. He also says he needs to be willing to admit when he is wrong.
Considering the possibility that we are at a tipping point when it comes to sexual abuse and harassment, Garner says that things must be out in the open so that they can be dealt with. She is excited that people are starting to ask tough questions, even though it’s not pretty. She also said that wounds are horrible to look at when they are healing.

As far as her personal wounds and her own healing, Garner took a role in the upcoming film The Tribes of Palos Verdes, where she stars as a woman whose husband is unfaithful. The subject matter hit close to home for Garner, but working on the movie was cathartic for her.
Jennifer Garner still loves Affleck and wants him to be a huge part of their kids’ lives. He has continued to struggle with alcohol since their split, and after a rehab stay in March, the actor relapsed in September. According to People magazine, he has asked for help and is traveling with a sober coach while promoting his latest film, Justice League. His main focus now is his family and getting better.
