Jennifer Aniston & John Mayer Still Have A 'Nice Friendship' More Than A Decade After Their Split, Claims Insider
Last weekend, fans noticed that Jennifer Aniston was part of the audience during John Mayer’s Instagram Live chat with fans about the death of Bill Withers. And, before California’s shelter-in-place order went into effect the exes were spotted together at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. Could this be a hint that Aniston and Mayer are rekindling their romance?
According to Us Weekly , Aniston and Mayer are not getting back together after dating more than a decade ago, but the duo are still friends.
“Jen and John have a nice friendship,” claimed the insider. “John has a deep admiration and respect for Jen.”
Aniston and Mayer met at an Oscar party in February 2008 - two years after her divorce from Brad Pitt and three years before she started dating her second husband, Justin Theroux - and they dated for a few months. They briefly rekindled their romance in 2009, but later called it quits for good.
The source says that Aniston and Mayer are not super close and don’t spend a lot of time together, but when they talk or are out together “it’s always friendly and nice. “ The insider added that “there is definitely no weirdness between them.”
During Mayer’s Instagram Live video on Sunday, April 5th, viewers noticed that Aniston commented with three laugh-crying emojis when the singer-songwriter was talking about how “useful” everything Withers said was, no matter who he was speaking to.
The comment from Mayer that caused Aniston’s reaction was: “Four percent of the things that I say are useful. One hundred percent of the things he said were useful.” As soon as Aniston posted the emojis, one fan wrote: “Omg Jen is here.”
Jennifer Aniston has also maintained her friendship with Justin Theroux since their split in 2018. For her birthday in 2019, Theroux gave her a shout out on social media, calling her a “fierce woman.” The following year, Theroux wished Aniston a happy 51st birthday by posting a pic of the Friends alum making a “roar” face and flexing her muscles.
In the caption of the photo, Theroux simply wrote, “Happy Birthday B,” along with a heart emoji.
Aniston also appears to be on good terms with Brad Pitt, who attended her 50th birthday party in 2019. The former couple had a brief run-in backstage at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the photos from the encounter nearly broke the internet.
