Actress, dancer and TV personality Jenna Dewan has no problem being transparent regarding her recent split with actor Channing Tatum. While some decide to go through this type of transitional period in quiet, Dewan is choosing to speak up about this time in her life. She admits that the shift has been a journey and a “transformation of myself.”
The World of Dance host understands why people often want to hold onto what is in front of them with all their might, even if that isn’t necessarily the best decision.
Ultimately she got to a place where she realized she wanted what was best for herself and her daughter, no matter what that looked like or how it seemed.
Dewan and Tatum’s daughter Everly, is 4 years old.
Dewan acknowledges that it does look and feel different, that the way they now go about their day to day lives is the “new normal.”
While she understands that it’s always going to be relatively challenging to go through a big change, she knows they can come out on the other side stronger and more well adjusted.
Dewan explained that it’s very possible for a relationship to change. Though people do take vows and though marriage is a sacred union, it takes a lot of work and sometimes reaches a point where the only logical step is to separate.
The raven-haired beauty explains that these shifts can be a positive thing and can improve the natural trajectory of each person’s life.
She also reveals that she’s done a lot of work to heal and that work will continue for quite some time. She had to come to a realization of her power as a woman ahead of her relationships, her career, and other people.
Stepping into her light and grace has done tremendous things for her self-worth and positive outlook.
