A new movie is about to hit the cinemas, and it’s an epic shark one. Called “Meg”, the movie is going to show Jason Statham, Ruby Rose and lots of other actors and it is currently being shot in New Zealand. People who live at Matakatia Bay and Gulf Harbour are witnessing the cast and the crew members while they were working on the upcoming Warner Bros. production during last week.
As the filming went on, more than 10 boats that had various sizes were seen going back and forth from the Gulf Harbour, taking cast members to film and then bringing them back. Also, the actors who were there made everybody post snapshots of the set on social media, thus making their teasing job easier.
On a single big ship, people there spotted around 40 crew members. They also had several cameras and a helicopter that kept landing on the shore. The stars that are playing in “Meg”, including Jason Statham and Ruby Rose, have also been seen in Auckland. Statham was spotted also in Ponsoby, while Rose was seen outside a Ruby store. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was accompanying Statham and enjoyed some coffee and smoothies at Dear Jervois in Herne Bay.
“Meg” is being written by Dean Georgaris, Belle Avery, Erich and Jon Hoeber and James Vanderbilt. It is directed by Jon Turteltaub and has a budget of around $150,000,000. It is in fact an adaptation of the 1997 novel “Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror”, written by Steve Alten.
This production follows the story of an expert sea diver who has to take some risks when a submersible is disabled at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. He has to overcome his fears in order to find out if the biggest marine predator, Carcharodon Megalodon, is alive and looking for people to kill.
