Things are starting to get nasty in the custody case between Janet Jackson and her ex, Wissam Al Mana. The former couple shares a 1-year-old son, Eissa, and trouble is brewing, but it’s not because either parent thinks the other is unfit. Instead, they can’t agree on how and where to raise their son.
TMZ is reporting that Jackson called the police twice this past weekend because Al Mana was not making his hotel WI-FI password available to their nanny. The singer wanted to be able to communicate with the nanny while her son was with her ex, but spotty cell service was making it difficult.

Then, the story surfaced that Al Mana was possibly using drugs and frightening the nanny with his “aggressive behavior,” so she locked herself in the bathroom. But, that did not come from the Control singer. Instead, it came from her brother Randy who is fanning the conflict flames to help his sister get an edge in the custody case.
However, Jackson’s call had nothing to do with a scared nanny, drug use, or Al Mana’s behavior, but it was simply about cell service. So, when the police arrived a few minutes after the call and realized nothing was wrong, they said to deal with the phone issue on their own. They added that there was “zero suspicion” of drug use, and that accusation puzzled them.
The custody case is contentious because Jackson wants Eissa with her in the United States. But, she moved to London when she married Al Mana, and that is where she gave birth to her son. She only moved back to the US after they split, and that could give her ex-husband an edge when it comes to custody.
Sources claim that Jackson and Al Mana have never seen eye-to-eye when it comes to parenting, and the cultural differences that ended their marriage are also making the job of raising Eissa somewhat tricky. In the past, Jackson has expressed frustration about her and Al Mana’s different ideas about raising their son.
Jackson and Al Mana split in April 2017, just three months after she gave birth.
“During their marriage, Janet worked hard on adapting to Wissam’s culture, but she found it challenging,” says the insider. “She often found herself disappointed with Wissam. Now when they share custody, it’s very difficult for Janet that Wissam has a completely different parenting approach than she does.”
The source adds that Jackson “couldn’t be a better mom,” and is so attached to her son that she is worried when he isn’t with her. And, the singer and those close to her are actively attempting to interfere with Al Mana’s time with Eissa. The insider also says that Jackson doesn’t want Al Mana to have any part in her son’s life and is making things difficult for him by dragging authorities into the situation.
But, taking things too far could backfire on Janet Jackson. In the meantime, Al Mana is not angry, and instead is just waiting for the truth to come out. But, will do whatever he needs to be with his son.
