Jamie Otis And Doug Hehner Welcome Baby Number 2 After Many Heartbreaking Miscarriages!
Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis, one of the successful couples of Married at First Sight have added a new bundle of joy to their family and they shared some adorable first pics via PEOPLE! As fans know, this is Jamie and Doug’s second child together and it’s a son!
The newborn was welcomed with a lot of excitement and love, especially because the pair has gone through no less than five miscarriages before finally giving birth to the healthy baby boy, yesterday, May 13!
The newest addition to the family was welcomed via a home water birth and the happy couple shared with PEOPLE that he weighs 9 lbs., 4 oz. and measures 21 inches.
That means that they are now a family of four, since Jamie and Doug are also the parents of a daughter named Henley Grace, aka Gracie, who is turning 3 years old this upcoming August.
As mentioned before, the parents of two have struggled to have children, their first pregnancy being back in 2016.
Jamie was 17 weeks along when she lost the baby, a son they named Johnathan Edward.
In August of 2017, Gracie was born and they were obviously very happy.
But when the Married at First Sight couple tried to give her a sibling, they went through a miscarriage again.
And then again, and again a couple more times!
In September of 2018 they announced a new pregnancy but only a week after Jamie revealed it was a chemical pregnancy.
That means she had an ‘early miscarriage, which happens within five weeks of implantation,’ Parents magazine explains.
Around the holidays of 2018, a new heartbreak happened when Jamie got pregnant again only for the embryo and amniotic sac to stop growing.
Now, they are over the moon to welcome a baby boy!
Back in September, Jamie told PEOPLE that when Doug found out it was a healthy son they were expecting, he ‘instantly cried tears of joy. Our very first baby was a boy, but we lost him. Of course, he loves our daughter, but he has wanted a boy so badly for so long. This is an answered prayer for us.’
