According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, James Franco is “paranoid” following the allegations of sexual misconduct. The insider claims James “changed his phone number” shortly after the scandal hit the mainstream media, and since then, he’s “keeping a very low profile.”
The source explained Franco as concerned with additional information “getting out.” The tweet which started it all was during the 2018 Golden Globes when Ally Sheedy – formerly of The Breakfast Club – posted a series of messages criticizing the Academy’s choice of winners that year.
Ally said, considering the theme of the awards this year – #MeToo and Time’s Up – James “shouldn’t have been allowed in.” She also criticized Christian Slater’s attendance.
Sheedy alleges she left the “film/tv business” because of the actions of Franco. Although, she didn’t reveal exactly what he had done.
As you may know, James and Ally worked together during an off-Broadway production called, The Long Shrift, in 2014, and it was during this time that they allegedly butted heads.
However, in an interview with Stephen Colbert on his late night TV show, James said he had no idea what she was referring to and thought they had a tremendous working relationship.
Just a few days later, the Los Angeles Times reported a story on the Disaster Artist actor where they claimed he behaved “inappropriately” toward women whom with he worked and that he frequently “abused his power.”
As a response to the charges, Franco’s attorney denied all of the claims and directed those inquiring about the issue to his appearance on the Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert.
James said during his visit on the popular show that he believes in the movement and if he has to take a “couple of knocks” than so be it. Ashley Judd, who has been incredibly vocal in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, supported James and said his choice of words was perfect.
