It’s Here: The First Full Trailer For ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’!

Last night during Super Bowl LII on NBC, fans got their first glimpse of the latest Star Wars film, a prequel called Solo: A Star Wars Story. Now, the full trailer is online and it’s jam-packed full of familiar faces and ships.
Even though the film opens in only three months, this is actually the first footage for Solo: A Star Wars Story that Lucasfilm has released so far.
After a quick glimpse of the Millenium Falcon’s cockpit, the trailer opens with young Han Solo (now played by Alden Ehrenreich) racing through the streets in a worn-out speeder.
If you look closely, you can actually spot the gold dice that will later hang in the Millenium Falcon and feature heavily in the climax of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
In a voiceover, Han declares, “I’ve been running scams on the street since I was 10,” which sounds like an appropriate brag for the famous smuggler.
A new character, Qi’ra, played by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, is in the passenger seat of the speeder alongside Han.
After that, we see a few more shots of Han being chased in various ships before the camera glides down the hallway of a spotless, brand-new version of the Millenium Falcon.
Then we’re introduced to Woody Harrelson’s character, Tobias Beckett, who is something of a mentor to Han and is “putting together a crew.”
A series of quick shots then introduce us to Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian (the original owner of the Millenium Falcon) and Thandie Newton’s mysterious character.
There are a few more glimpses at other new characters, ships, and aliens before we see the Falcon running from a Star Destroyer and some TIE fighters and encountering a giant tentacled creature.
It won’t be long before we learn more, as Solo: A Star Wars Story opens in theaters on Memorial Day weekend: May 25, 2018.
