Is There Room For Days Of Our Lives On Streaming Services — Fans Panic Fearing DOOL Is Canceled After Entire Cast Has Contracts Terminated
Fans are freaking out as they fear this is the end of the long-running soap opera Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) . Reports surfaced on Tuesday saying the entire cast of the soap opera that has been on for 54 years and is in its 55th season had their contracts terminated and there is no guarantee the show will come back to airwaves in 2020. Now panicked fans are hoping that if NBC drops DOOL a streaming network could step in and save the show. At this point, NBC and Sony haven't announced what the future looks like for Days Of Our Lives but without any contracts and no filming taking place it doesn't look good.
Though fans have been able to save shows in the past, it hasn't really happened for soap operas like people would hope. Fans were devasted in 2013 when All My Children went off the air and the show still had a strong viewer base. It's different; however, to film a soap opera that airs for one hour per day, five days a week and a season for a show that can consist of 10 to 22 one-hour episodes.
TV Line was the first outlet to break the news. You may see a report about the possible end of Days Of Our Lives below.
Though Days Of Our Lives continues to have a strong fan base, the show's ratings aren't what they used to be. But still, devoted fans can be enough to save a show as has been seen in the past.
Some of the Days Of Our Lives cast include award-winning actors and actresses and even Jennifer Aniston's 86-year-old father John Aniston has been on the show since 1985. Actress Susan Seaforth Hayes and her husband Bill Hayes have been on Days Of Our Lives since its inception.
What do you think about the news? Are you a Days Of Our Lives fan? Would you be upset if DOOL went off the air after 55 seasons?
At this point, there is still a chance that Sony and NBC may keep DOOL on the air but just revamp it. No one knows for sure what is going on but fans are watching this story closely.
