With all of the scandals surrounding the Teen Mom franchise and the fears that MTV could be canceling the popular series, Kailyn Lowry isn’t taking any chances. She and her Coffee Convos co-host Lindsie Chrisley are in talks for their own show, and several networks have already approached them about a possible Teen Mom spinoff.
Since everything is “up in the air” with the show that made her famous, will Lowry jump ship before it sinks?
The idea for the new show came after MTV started filming the Teen Mom 2 podcast, and it will focus on Lowry and Chrisley living their lives as working moms who are podcast hosts, but who also work on other projects and brands.
This all comes after a source close to Teen Mom OG star Tyler Baltierra revealed that there is a lot of fear among the cast of both shows that MTV will cancel them after they fired David Eason for his homophobic Twitter rant and the problems surrounding Farrah Abraham’s $5 million lawsuit against the producers.
Advertisers like Nutro Company and Caesar Cuisine have already pulled their ads from the show, and fans are calling for others to do the same if the network doesn’t fire Jenelle Evans.
Evans and Eason caused a big stir this past week after he posted a picture of her posing with an assault rifle just hours after the Florida school shooting. Eason refused to take the picture down and then started arguing with fans over gun control.
Eventually, he spiraled into a homophobic rant that resulted in MTV firing him in the middle of production for next season.
Evans wasn’t completely innocent herself. She liked her husband’s tweets, and she also attempted to defend his actions in an interview with TMZ. Many fans believe she should join her husband in the unemployment line, and if she doesn’t, it would be an insult to members of the LGBTQ community and the victims of school shootings.
Other stars of the Teen Mom franchise have come out in support of Eason’s firing, including Lowry, Abraham, and Leah Messer.

Lowry called Eason’s comments disturbing, while Messer said that the couple needs help. Abraham shared a screenshot of a fan’s message that said if MTV fired Abraham, then they need to fire Eason and Evans.
After the news broke that the network did let Eason go, Kailyn Lowry said she was happy about the decision, and added that they should have fired him after he brought a knife to their end of year special.
MTV is currently airing new episodes of Teen Mom OG on Monday nights at 8 pm ET. They have yet to announce a premiere date for the next season of Teen Mom 2.
