Looks like a familiar face may be on her way back to Love and Hip Hop, just in a different city. Erica Mena, the pretty and fiesta New Yorker who made her debut in the earlier seasons of Love and Hip Hop New York, may be joining the Atlanta cast.
Rumors have been swirling for a couple of weeks that the latina will be taking the vacated spot left by Joseline Hernandez. Much like Joseline has done recently, when Mena originally left the Love and Hip Hop franchise, she swore she was done working on anything that was produced by Mona Scott Young.
So perhaps the offer was just too good to pass up. There’s also been talk that she may have already started filming with the ATL cast.
This does seem to work out with timing as Mena is in Atlanta and has been spending some time there since her 30th birthday celebration.
Since she left Love and Hip Hop New York, she’s stayed in the spotlight via various projects. Many remember her relationship with Bow Wow and their public falling out after their breakup. Bow Wow seemed to take it upon himself to suggest that he was the reason behind Mena’s glo-up and subsequent successes.
She’s also been seen on VH1’s Scared Famous where a group of reality stars are put through scary challenges in a haunted estate and the winner gets the prize money donated to the charity of their choice.
Though there hasn’t been an official confirmation, if she is now filming for the Atlanta version of the show, Joseline may be a bit ticked. Mena definitely fills the sassy and spitfire energy that Joseline brought to the show. Mena got into plenty of fights during her stint on the New York seasons.
Joseline publically dragged creator Mona Scott Young saying she was the star of the show and that she wasn’t being fairly compensated for her presence. We’ll see what Josline has next up her sleeve now that she has some more time on her hands.
Looks like there’s just as much drama behind the scenes as there is caught on camera.
