Ever since David Bowie died, his wife, Iman, is still coping with her husband’s tragic death. In fact, during a conversation with PORTEREdit, the star said she would never have a husband again.
The model told a story regarding an individual who asked her about David, referring to him as her “late” husband, and she responded, “No, he is always going to be my husband.”
The 63-year-old woman explained she has no intentions of marrying ever again. However, Iman isn’t throwing the idea of dating away altogether, because she’s still interested in meeting people, just not getting married.
“I do feel very lonely,” the model stated, before going on to rhetorically ask, “but do I want a relationship?” She wants to find another man in the future, but as of this moment, Iman isn’t interested.
Iman, or Zara Mohamed Abdulmajid, married Bowie back in 1992, and they had their first kid together in 2000, Alexandria Zahra Jones. Iman is the stepmother of the director of Mute, Duncan Jones, who first shattered expectations as a filmmaker with his 2009 film, Moon.
Ever since Bowie passed away in 2016 at the age of 69 due to liver cancer, Iman has received a massive outpouring of support. However, many of her supporters take it too far.
“People take pictures of me in the street,” Iman explained, going on to say that it’s impossible for someone to be sorry while taking a picture of her at the same time.
Iman stated the grief is not of the same nature. In other words, she and her family lost a father and a husband, while the fans lost someone they look up to or someone whose music they appreciate.
“I don’t want people to know how sad I am,” she remarked. Her daughter, Alexandria, intends to travel to Los Angeles along with her brother, Duncan, but Alexandria worries for her mother’s wellbeing. A friend who spoke with Us Weekly around the time of his death stated that Iman and David were seriously in love, and were “romantic until the end.”
Even after twenty years of romance, David would still write love notes and sing songs for her. It was almost as if they were still in the infancy stage of their relationship; “they were still young lovers,” the source added.
