An unsuspected celebrity revealed that Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s bad blood made things awkward at last year’s Met Gala. In discussion with The New York Times, Elba explained that during the year’s prestigious event, it got a little uncomfortable due to Taylor and Kanye being in the same room.
The Hollywood star, 45, played an exciting game with the publication called, “Confirm and Deny,” where he had to reveal the truth when asked any question. The reporter asked him if the Met Gala was stressful and, in response, he claimed it was great because it made him feel famous, like a celebrity.
However, he stated it was tense because Taylor Swift had to present one of the awards. He explained, “we were walking through the crowd, there was a little beef between Taylor and Kanye. I didn’t know any of this. But I was there! And I was, like, ‘Oh, this is awkward.'”
Even though there was no reported incident between the Yeezus rapper and Taylor that night, apparently it was clear there was some tension.
Back in August of this year, Swift released her newest track, “Look What You Made Me Do,” where it seemed as though she was alluding to her beef with the College Dropout rapper.
During her video, Taylor refers to a tilted stage like the ones famously used by Kanye during his tour for Saint Pablo. She also featured a pit of snakes leading many to believe she was mocking Kim’s usage of the “serpent” emoticon while referring to Taylor on social media.
However, at this time, an insider revealed that Kim and her husband, Kanye, have moved on entirely; they don’t care about the feud. The source claimed, “Kim and Kanye have a lot of things going on in their lives and don’t care about old feuds like that. I mean, Kim was robbed last year. That was way more important than their silly ‘feud.'”
