The model is getting hate on social media! Cara Delevingne previously said that she would boycott Coachella but then gushed over Beyonce’s epic performance at the festival and people are not having it!
Cara seemed to be just like the rest of us after witnessing Queen Bey’s fantastic performance – inspired and amazed!
She took to social media to praise the star by saying: ‘I am speechless. That performance made me break into tears and sent shivers down my spine. Especially the Destiny’s Child reunion. ICONIC is an understatement. Thank you for inspiring many and lifting each other up.’
But many fans thought she was being hypocritical and slammed Cara on social media.
As you may already know, the supermodel and actress made it pretty clear that she refused to attend the festival after the owner donated to anti-LGBT groups through his company.
However, later on, the man argued that he was not aware of it.
‘But you support her going to a place you don’t support? It’s okay if she goes and makes a profit off it? If it was the other way around you would boycott ‘em,’ one user wrote.
‘Look up the Definition of a hypocrite. It would be like looking in the mirror,’ another wrote.
Someone even argued that Cara’s post actually helped Coachella a lot.
‘You know that sharing this makes Coachella more powerful? So in this way you’re supporting something you shamed. Coachella should just be ignored. We need consistency, not just words.’
Cara has now explained that her hate toward the popular festival and her admiration of Beyonce can be mutually exclusive.
‘Some people are angry at the fact that I posted about my anger towards the owner of Coachella and then about Beyonce. My hashtag was #Nochella. I still refuse to go to a festival that’s owned by someone who’s anti LGBT and pro-gun. I’m allowed to shame that man and the festival and show my appreciation of an artist at the same time. Just because I love Beyonce does not mean I now love Coachella. I still would not go. And I’ll let nothing get in the way of me showing my love or hate for something. Do not let anyone come between you and your truth.’
