Amanda Seyfried has had quite the understated career in Hollywood, despite roles in films like Mean Girls and Mamma Mia, she hasn’t reached bonafide superstardom quite yet, but that’s just fine with her. In fact, she is enjoying where she’s at in her life.
Seyfried covers the July issue of Elle UK where she opens up about motherhood, why it’s a pertinent and impacting time for women in Hollywood and why the last election actually had a hand in her deciding to get married.
The blonde beauty with wide eyes talks about motherhood by saying that she’s really enjoying this moment where others trust your opinion. She thinks that there’s something about having a kid that wordlessly persuades others to take you seriously and treat you like a grown up.
Seyfried speaks emphatically and passionately about the current movements that champion the safety and voices of women. She believes that women now feel empowered to tell their truth and aren’t necessarily crippled by the potential repercussions.
She knows the feeling of women having to battle with if they would be able to keep their job, their reputation and their sanity amongst how the press and society often treat women accusing powerful men of predatory crimes.
She opened up about why she and husband Thomas Sadoski, who is also an actor, decided to get married. Seyfried revealed that the current political climate shift and the last presidential election really put things into perspective for her.
She felt that the world was going “mad” and that to preserve a huge bit of peace and sanctity, she wanted to marry the person she was in love with.
The couple secretly eloped in March 2017. They welcomed their first child, a girl, shortly after getting hitched. Their daughter’s name has not yet been revealed to the public.
