Since marrying Prince Harry last month, Meghan Markle has gotten the chance on more than one occasion to learn about life as a Royal from Queen Elizabeth herself. And spending time with the ultimate Royal expert has allowed Markle to get to know Her Majesty better and share where her passions lie.
According to Us Weekly, the new Duchess of Sussex has impressed the Queen by quickly demonstrating that “she is intelligent, polite, and keen to learn.”
“[Markle’s] enthusiasm towards living a life of service and humanitarianism excites the queen, and it’s just the type of vim and vigor she likes to see in someone,” says an insider.
"Meghan and I are incredibly excited to meet so many of you representing the future of the Commonwealth." — The #CommonwealthYouth Forum is giving the young people of the Commonwealth a voice in its future; The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met some of its young leaders to see how @commonwealth_sec is helping them make their ideas a reality.
The 92-year-old monarch has also impressed Markle with her brilliant sense of humor, which is one of the things that has brought the two women closer and made the former actress feel at ease.
The 36-year-old recently attended her first solo royal event with the Queen when they traveled to Cheshire, England, to open the Mersey Gateway Bridge at Catalyst Science Discovery Center. It was a big deal that Markle got her first solo appearance with the Queen less than a month after she became a Royal. Kate Middleton had to wait almost an entire year before her first solo visit with Her Majesty.
It can be tough adjusting to life as a Duchess, but sources say Markle is “killing it,” and has had no problem getting friendly with her grandmother-in-law. The former Suits actress is completely at ease and has developed close relationships with both Queen Elizabeth and her father-in-law, Prince Charles. And, he even has a nickname for Markle – Tungsten – because she is “tough and unbending” like the metal.
The source claims that Markle wants to please her new in-laws and is doing everything she can to educate herself about living life as a Royal. She has also impressed the family with her genuine interest in the charities they support, and Markle will be spending more and more time representing the Royals in the future.
Markle is a known feminist and activist who plans to champion girl’s education, gender equality, and gay rights with her new global platform. The insider says that the Duchess of Sussex is anxious to jump in and will probably announce her first charity patronage very soon.
“She’s ready to work as much as she can on as many projects as they will allow,” reveals the inside source.
Meghan Markle and the entire royal family – including Kate Middleton – made another official appearance for the RAF Centenary service with Queen Elizabeth Tuesday morning.
