It sounds like Hilary Duff is looking forward to reprising her iconic role as Lizzie McGuire! The actress was in attendance at the 5th Annual Baby Ball in Los Angeles and while there, she chatted with E! News about the upcoming reboot!
As you probably already know, back in August it was announced that there will be a brand new Lizzie McGuire sequel series on Disney+!
The plot of the reboot is set to follow a grown-up Lizzie living life in New York and trying to make something of her career.
E! News has reported that they are going to start production on the series at the end of this month!
Hilary, who was at the event with her significant other, Matthew Koma, shared with the news outlet that ‘For me, coming back when she is 30 and she is not in a marriage and she is not having a baby and she is not doing all the things I have done in my life already, that story’s really exciting for me. Where can we go [with the story]? What are the struggles of a thirty-year-old right now? What are the pressures life throws in front of a woman who’s 30 and doesn’t have all the things yet?’
She went on to say that ‘The opportunities are endless. Maybe at the end of this series we see her having a baby? You know, maybe it is hard for her to get pregnant? Maybe there’s something bad happening on her 30th birthday in the very first episode? Maybe she is going to be in her childhood bedroom in the first episode? I don’t know! We want to give fans what they want, but we want to have a completely new show as well.’
All of that sounds great! We’ll just have to wait and see what the writers go with!
