Amber Portwood is no longer a child; she knows how to get things done as well as protect herself when necessary. In an interview with Us Weekly, the reality star opened up about her relationship with Andrew Glennon, a man who is worlds apart from her last boyfriend, Matt Baier, when it comes to their character.
In case you missed it, the 27-year-old Teen Mom alum claimed that her former boyfriend, 46, stole thousands of dollars from her, in an act that created massive drama between them.
Because of the incident, Amber is no longer using a joint bank account with her man. Everything is “completely separate.” She’s gotten a lot smarter this time around.
When discussing her previous situation with Matt, she claimed they shared nearly everything together including bank accounts, businesses, cash, and all of the necessary assets in life, things that should be separate.
Thankfully, Amber explained, Andrew is exceptional at understanding there are clear lines to be drawn in the sand, personal boundaries that can’t be crossed for the sake of their family and their relationship.
It’s nothing personal. They do what they have to do to keep themselves protected. Andrew admires that about Amber, she’s perfectly capable of taking care of herself.
According to the reality star, Andrew is the type of guy who wants to take care of her but is comfortable with the fact she doesn’t need him. Ultimately, he’s grateful that she’s able to do things on her own.
Andrew has “been in the cinematography business for a while,” so he has amassed a relatively large fortune. As you may know, Andrew and Amber met on the set of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition.
As for the future, it’s all about having a healthy lifestyle, and Portwood explained she’s looking forward to a great life on the show. She stated, “I have a really calm, chill life, and you know, I’m happy for the first time, genuinely.”
