Jay-Z and Beyonce are considered to be a power couple for many reasons. Not only for their respective flourishing careers which have lasted decades but because of their trend-setting ability and relatability to the masses.
Jay and Bey are one of the world’s fan favorites, with the photo of Beyonce pregnant with Blue Ivy being one of the most liked pictures on Instagram ever.
The fact that their daughter, Blue Ivy, is already setting fashion trends for children makes the celebrity duo even cooler, as far as the fashion world is considered.
According to reports, the stylist, Manuel A. Mendez, is the one responsible for their daughter’s style. Manuel has been working with the company, Parkwood Entertainment, since 2009.
Manuel used to work as an executive assistant but now works as a personal stylist for Ivy instead. Mendez’s most recent fashion-success was during the Wearable Art Gala, where Ivy wore a $19,000 dress.
Manuel received praise for bringing the old school princess look into the modern age, with vintage designs and patterns molded to a more contemporary fashion.
During the Grammys in 2017, Manuel chose a pink Gucci suit and finished it off with a pink glitter clutch which cost around $2,500. Ivy also wore sneakers along with her gown, just to give it a more relatable and child-like look, because even though she’s on the red carpet, it doesn’t mean she’s an adult yet.
As for her favorite brand, Ivy, like her mother, loves to wear Gucci. The only difference is that the four-year-old wears Converse sneakers rather than stiletto shoes.
However, despite the praise awarded to the young girl, some have criticized the Carters for glamorizing consumerism and the fashion industry, which is considered to be one of the world’s biggest polluters and cause of animal cruelty.
