According to a report from EOnline, Taylor Swift recently insinuated she was finally over her feud with the singer, Katy Perry, following years of media reporting and speculated beef between them. Katy just released a new track on the Apple Music playlist, Me! called “Never Really Over,” and apparently, Taylor quickly added it to her new playlist.
Alongside the tracks in her playlist, the singer-songwriter said, “maybe a hundred bad days made a hundred good stories, a hundred good stories make me interesting at parties.” Regardless, this isn’t the first time Perry has extended a hand of truce to Swift.
Back in 2018, Katy said she wanted to “clear the air” with Taylor before she started the Reputation Tour. On her Instagram, Taylor thanked the “Firework” singer and said it meant a lot to her, “Thank you, Katy,” the songwriter wrote.
Moreover, Katy liked Taylor’s Instagram post in which she revealed she was voting in the mid-term elections. Katy wrote on the post that Taylor was “setting such a great example.” As it was previously reported, Taylor announced she was voting for the Democratic candidate one evening after years of other celebrities accusing her of not getting into political matters enough.
Reportedly, Swift’s decision to vote and post on her social media caused a massive wave of voter registration in her home state, Tennessee. Clearly, Swift’s social capital in the United States is immense, which makes sense considering she has over 100,000,000 followers on her Instagram.
During a 2018 episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Perry said she wanted to finally crush her feud with Taylor Swift because she was getting sick of it. Perry said to the host of the show, “What I want to say, is, like, I’m ready for that B.S. to be done.”
Fans know that this all started a few years back over back-up dancers. During one interview, Taylor suggested a celebrity once said one of the meanest things ever to her at an awards ceremony, and fans were quick to suggest it was Katy. Regardless, the bad blood between them appears to be over now.
