According to reports, Henry Cavill might not be reprising his role as Superman in upcoming installments. Sources said to The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Brothers are turning its attention to a Supergirl movie, rather than a Superman film. And there have been a couple of scheduling conflicts, making it unlikely for Henry to return.
Reportedly, the organization is trying to “reset” their DC universe, and instead, slowly move toward a new way of doing things, possibly looking to capitalize on the market for female-dominated roles.

Me and my Salty Sea Dog going diving. I would say "Well, only me diving. Kal stayed on the boat"…..but he didn't. Minor heart attack for me and a deep sea adventure for Kal ? #DoggyPaddle PS…Kal decided that trying to find me when I was 100ft underwater was more difficult than he had previously thought so he returned to the boat of his own accord. Gold star for effort though.

As fans of Cavill know, Superman was resurrected in the 2017 film, Justice League, after he sacrificed himself to save humanity in Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice.
In December, Henry said he was looking forward to acting as Superman once again, and the studio had him under contract. Previously, the actor stated that Superman had grown since Man Of Steel, and it was nice to see a “refreshing” new character.
Around the same time, Henry was signed up to The Witcher, an eight-episode series on Netflix. While Henry’s career is continuing to move along, one wonders if we’ll get to see him as Superman once again?
