The talented rapper blames the singer for shooting her in the foot a few weeks ago. She reportedly decided to speak out after allies to Tory started tarnishing her reputation in the media, allegedly, of course.
By talking, the “Hot Girl Summer” artist attracted a lot of criticism, and some people even called her a snitch for sharing her story.
She defended herself against the charge, and all of this sparked a conversation about the need to protect Black women against all forms of abuse.
The 54-year-old mother of two wrote on Twitter: “Peace. Protection. Respect. For ALL Black Women. ALWAYS. @theestallion, we stand with you. F**k this sh**. #ProtectBlackWomen.”
Jordan, 33, chimed in: “Meg, I admire your courage and applaud you for speaking up. We must Support Black Women, Protect Black Women, and Believe Black Women. @theestallion.”
This message of love and support was not received unanimously. One critic stated: “It doesn’t matter what y’all say Megan snitched because she only told out of spite 💯I wanna hear Tory side.”
A second commenter explained: “Black men still gon find a way to disappoint. All I see is “Meg a snitch,” coming specifically from black men.”
A third person added: “WHERE ARE THE BLACK MEN? All of them quite asf yet want us to speak up for them! All I’m saying is keep the same energy !!!”
Los Angeles District Attorney’s office spokesman Ricardo Santiago reacted to the latest developments in the case with the following statement: “On July 24, our office asked law enforcement for further investigation before making a filing decision on a charge of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm — personal use of a firearm, against Daystar Peterson.”
However, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer William Cooper also shared: “At this point, I have not received any new information from the officers regarding the investigation.”
It remains to be seen if Megan will be able to get more support from her peers and if things will take a more drastic turn for Tory.
