The actress got pretty real about aging! Gwyneth Paltrow may be a beautiful, successful actress, but she still worries about normal things just like the rest of us!
One such thing that she can’t ignore or avoid is the passing of time and the effect it may have on her looks!
But that’s not to say Paltrow was not ready to discuss aging in-depth and with humor during the very first episode of goop’s podcast, The Beauty Closet.
The CEO and founder of goop chatted with hosts Jean Godfrey-June and Megan O’Neill about aging in the public eye, as well as how she’s been portrayed in the media throughout the years!
‘I’ve always felt funny about my looks. I think that it is very rare to think that you are a beautiful person, and so, I feel just like every other woman, like I do not see that when I look in the mirror,’ the Hollywood star dished,
She went on to explain that ‘I think for me it’s more internally feeling…as I go on in life and feel more and more myself and just less judgmental about myself, my values become clearer, I can be in integrity all the time, which is much harder when you are a younger woman and you are trying to please and juggling all this stuff.’
About being considered a ‘beautiful woman,’ Paltrow admitted that it is a very ‘weird thing to be.’
‘Then I think when you come to age, if you have this identity as that, what does it mean to get wrinkles and to get closer to menopause? And all of these things, and it is like, what happens to your identity as a woman if you are not f**kable and beautiful?’ she added.
Luckily for her however, Paltrow assured the hosts that at the same time, she is at the age when women start to like themselves more and more and that is what’s happened to her.
