Now the golfer has to spend time in rehab but gets to avoid spending any behind bars! Today, Tiger Woods plead guilty in court, admitting that he drove recklessly.
In order to avoid a more severe charge for his DUI accusation, the disgraced pro accepted the plea deal.
As fans probably remember, back in May, Tiger Woods was caught driving while under the influence.
‘Are you entering this plea willfully and voluntarily?’ the judge asked the sportsman, and Woods responded affirmatively.
‘The court will accept the plea agreement. The defendant will be entering a plea of reckless driving. He’ll receive a withhold of adjudication of the misdemeanor reckless driving charge.’
This decision is also allowing Tiger to get the record sealed if he successfully follows the court’s requirements.
Woods was ordered to a year-long probation, time during which he has to abstain from using any alcohol or drugs.
In addition, the 41-year-old is also supposed to enroll in several rehabilitation programs.
What is interesting is the fact that as part of the deal, he’ll meet families of DUI victims and hear their heartbreaking stories.
‘Now Mr. Woods, this is important to understand that this particular agreement has no jail time. But if you break your probation I could sentence you to 90 days in jail with $500 probation,’ the judge warned.
Do you think Tiger Woods will successfully abstain from using any harmful substances for 12 months?
