Gucci Mane Says He And Jeezy Did Verzuz 'For The Culture'
Last night, Gucci Mane and Jeezy faced off in what has been described as a historic Verzuz battle. The pair of rappers reportedly had been feuding for years, until they finally called it off last night and made amends.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Mane and Jeezy met up for Verzuz this weekend in front of 2 million people around the world, and after sharing taunts and insults, they performed the song, "So Icy," to wrap it all up.
For the longest while, however, it seemed like the pair of performing artists were going to continue fighting in perpetuity. Especially because of the bars they were spitting at each other, including a few of their old diss-tracks.
Jeezy never took the rapper's bait, instead, he chose to declare that his purpose in life was much bigger than any feud. Even though a lot of people were quick to praise Jeezy for not instigating anymore of the provocation, others explained that Jeezy also participated in the feud for a long time.
Either way, Gucci Mane reflected on how they managed to crush their beef. The rapper took to his Instagram account to explain why he chose to do it. He said he did all of it for the "culture." His wife, Keyshia Ka'oir, wrote in response to his post, "Yes you did! I'm proud of you!"
As it was previously reported, Gucci Mane and Jeezy performed on Verzuz last night in front of a couple of million people. The pair of rappers had been at each other's throats for years until they finally put it all behind them last night.
As the story goes, Gucci Mane reportedly murdered one of Jeezy's friends. Mane got off on self-defense, but he never let Jeezy live it down, although, as it was noted above, Jeezy fought back plenty.
As for what both rappers have been doing since then, Gucci married Keyshia Ka'oir and turned his life around after getting out of prison, and Jeezy is now gearing up to marry Jeannie Mai, one of the hosts of The Real.
