Gucci Mane wrote a new book, The Gucci Mane Guide to Greatness , in which the rapper joked that he was ok with Malcolm Gladwell being more celebrated as a writer than he is.

The New York Post picked up on a passage from the memoir today in which Gucci shared some of the most important life lessons he has learned thus far. Fans of the performing artist know he has been through a lot in his life.

Gucci Mane, in addition to spending some time behind bars, has released 20 albums, released dozens of mixtapes, and also dropped an autobiography that sold thousands upon thousands of copies. His latest book, published by Simon and Schuster, features the 40-year-old rapper giving his own take on the self-help genre.

The rapper says that people often come up to him and ask him why he doesn't speak at schools more often. He has his own way of teaching and being a leader, which is writing books, the rapper claimed. Amid his many pearls of wisdom, Gucci shared one that was particularly poignant.

The rapper urged his readers to treat life as a series of moments and to do with each moment the most one can do with it. Another point mentioned in the book is that life can take everything away from you at a moment's notice.

As for what led to his success, Gucci Mane said he had a tough childhood, went to jail, and it was especially challenging when he tried to become successful as a rapper. The performing artist said his self-talk patterns and being on his own team is what helped him win.

Fans of the hip-hop world know Gucci Mane is one of the most respected rappers in the game. Earlier this year, he was in the headlines regarding his short-lived feud with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club , which played a role in the tension between Angela and Charlamagne in the aftermath.

Additionally, the rapper shared pictures from when he was a much heavier man before going off to prison where he spent much of his time reading up on nutrition and learning how to take better care of himself.
