Finding love will be Meredith’s biggest challenge in Season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has struggled with dating ever since the death of her husband, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), but showrunner Krista Vernoff promises that her journey back to love will happen this season – though it will not be easy.
“It’s hard,” Vernoff shared, “and everybody has to do it, so it’s very human and very relatable.”
Vernoff enjoyed seeing someone like Meredith, who is both successful and beautiful, re-enter the dating world and make herself vulnerable for heartbreak. While Meredith is certainly a catch, finding love again is going to be a complicated mess.

Not only is she still dealing with moving past her first epic love, but Meredith is also entering an entirely different dating world than in year’s past.
Although Meredith’s journey to love is complicated, Vernoff teased that things might not look so different from her romance with Derek. In fact, Vernoff assured fans that Meredith will find a passionate romance this season, despite everything she has lost.
The showrunner clearly believes that anyone can find love no matter where they are at in life, which is definitely good news for fans who want to see Meredith happy again.
The big question, of course, is which character will sweep Meredith off her feet.

DeLuca appeared to be the frontrunner for Meredith’s love after the Season 15 trailer showed the two sleeping together. According to TV Line, however, Meredith and DeLuca will not become a big thing in the upcoming season.
Vernoff refused to reveal which man will steal Meredith’s heart, but she did confirm that the journey will be complicated and comical. We do not know when Meredith will finally find love, but it definitely sounds like we are in for some entertaining times ahead.
Season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy kicks off Sept. 27 on ABC.
