'GOT's Daniel Portman Reveals He's Been Assaulted By Many Women Since Appearing On The Show
'Game of Thrones' is full of gorgeous women and heartthrob men. Unfortunately, being a part of such a huge show will bring lots of unwanted attention and harassment as told by Daniel Portman who holds the role as Podrick.
In the era of #metoo, many people in the industry have decided to speak up about the abuse and assault they've endured by people of the same and opposite sex. Daniel has revealed that he has been sexually assaulted by many women in a recent interview.
If you watch the mega-popular HBO series you'd know that Podrick has a way with the ladies. Unfortunately, some fans of the show can't separate the man that he plays on TV from the man that he is in real life.
"I’ve been grabbed by so many… like the amount of like older, older women who are very..." Portman admitted while making a squeezing movement with his hands.
He went on to say: "What can you do? You know? Obviously tell them not to do it. In this day and age, you’d think that people would be able to separate reality from fiction. I don't want to say it comes with the territory, but, you know, people are crazy about it. It's certainly not cool."
This isn't the first time a man on a long-running top-watched show has revealed that they've been assaulted by fans. Penn Badgley recalled that when 'Gossip Girl' was at its peak -- he was molested by overzealous viewers.
"I think as an actor you can become an object of desire, which is something women are already accustomed to more or less around the world — I've definitely been, I mean I don't want to sound sensationalist, but I've literally been molested — just in the literal sense of the word — by many people in the moment. Because that's what they do."
Hopefully, listening to the stories of these TV stars -- people keep their hands to themselves when it comes to someone who hasn't given consent.
