Geri Halliwell AKA Ginger Spice Reveals Why Spice Girls Never Reunited
A Spice Girls reunion is something fans will have to keep waiting for. Geri Halliwell – currently Horner – has decided to reveal why the girl group never reunited.
‘I pushed to get everyone back together. It got to the point where I had to let it go. I still love my girls, and there are other bits in the pipeline,’ the woman stated.
As fans may remember, last year, Geri, Mel B and Emma Bunton got together in order to properly celebrate ‘Wannabe's’ 20th anniversary.
Also then, they announced the new name of their trio - GEM.
Later on, it was announced that Mel C and Victoria Beckham were not going to rejoin the girl group because of their personal careers.
Geri, also known as Ginger Spice, was, in fact, the first member to leave the group back in 1998 but she revealed that it was really difficult for her to adapt to a solo career.
‘I found it really hard to let it go. It was weird to have the silence. It took me a long time to adjust emotionally. Your early twenties is a very shaping era, very defining. I did not come to a complete stop. I did solo work, but I missed being part of something,’ the singer confessed.
Nowadays, Ginger Spice spends most of her time being a mom to her two kids – daughter Bluebell, 11 and 9-month-old Montague.
However, the mother of two wants to contribute to the world once again by doing things she can be proud of and ‘reclaim [her] identity.’
Still, she added that being a pop star is not something she wants as she’s not very sure it fits her current lifestyle as a mom.
