George Clooney Addresses Claims Of Sexual Harassment On The Set Of ER

George Clooney is speaking out against the allegations made by his former co-star on ER, Vanessa Marquez. On Marquez’s Twitter account, she claimed that George Clooney was partly to blame for her “blacklisting” from the popular series in 1995.
The former star of ER retweeted an article where Clooney condemned Harvey Weinstein’s actions and the recent allegations made regarding his inappropriate conduct.
However, Marquez thinks Clooney’s comments were merely a facade; Clooney is allegedly responsible for similar crimes.
She wrote on her Twitter feed, “Clooney helped blacklist me” when the actress spoke out against sexual harassment on ER. She added, “women who don’t play the game lose their career.”
According to Vanessa, on the set of ER, people sexually and racially harassed her every single day. One of the producers is allegedly responsible for her termination on the popular drama series.
Nevertheless, Clooney came out to address the claims saying he had no idea she was blacklisted at all; it’s news to him.
He claimed, “I had no idea Vanessa was blacklisted,” but he does take her at her word. He added that he had no authority on the show; he was merely an actor, not a writer, and not a producer.
According to George, if someone told Vanessa that he was partially responsible than it was a lie. He claimed, “the fact that I couldn’t affect her career is only surpassed by the fact that I wouldn’t.”
As you may already know, Clooney has a longlasting relationship with Harvey Weinstein who George claims is partially responsible for giving him big breaks in Hollywood. The actor claimed Harvey is responsible for delivering him his first role. With that said, regarding Weinstein’s alleged misconduct, Clooney stated he “never saw” such behavior and it’s entirely indefensible either way.
