Former Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin lost her husband Bobby to cancer in January. But rumor has it that she is already dating again, and fans think that she has moved on too quickly. Sources say that Zarin doesn’t have a new boyfriend yet, but she has been seeing Gary Brody, and the “situation is evolving.”
Zarin has been friends with Brody for a long time, and the two have often played tennis together. And, they went to London last week – along with her daughter Ally Shapiro – to hang out at Wimbledon.
Some fans have left harsh comments on Zarin’s social media, but she has been quick to let people know what’s really going on between her and the clothing executive.
“I don’t typically comment on tabloid stories, but I felt it was important to set the record straight and let you all know I haven’t been dating anyone for six months,” she told People Magazine. “I just started accepting a few dinner dates after much thought and support from my close friends and family. I felt Bobby would want me to start to live again.”
Zarin also said that Brody respects her grieving process, and has been a good friend who she can talk to. She added that he only wants what is best for her and her daughter.
Zarin’s good friend Heather McDonald said that she had gotten the chance to meet Brody, and he had her “dying laughing.” The host of the Juicy Scoop podcast also noted that it is nice to know Zarin is having fun.
Earlier this spring, Zarin said that she has adjusted to the idea of finding love again because she doesn’t have a choice. She said that she is an optimist, and she believes it is in God’s hands. The former reality star also revealed that she discussed this with Bobby before he died, and he told her what he wanted for her – to move on, to be happy, to work, and to play tennis.
Since her late husband knew that she loved tennis, he thought it would be a good activity for her to meet someone, and he didn’t want her to be alone.
Jill and Bobby were married for 18 years before he passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Bravo cameras were on hand for his funeral, and they filmed Jill Zarin along with current RHONY cast members at the service.
