Heather Dubrow’s husband might be a respected medical doctor, but she still ventures into the unconventional whenever her family needs a boost.
The former Real Housewives of Orange star recently shared photos of her family undergoing IV hydration therapy at her Orange County mansion. Dr. Todd Newman administered the treatment to Dubrow’s entire family, who was struggling to get over a stomach bug.
Dubrow praised the controversial treatment in her caption, telling followers that it can “detoxify your body,” “boost your beauty,” and “improve weight loss.”

Although Dubrow endorses IV hydration, there are risks involved. According to Bravo, Kendall Jenner was rushed to the hospital after undergoing the treatment, which can result in allergic reactions.
Vein inflammation is also a hazard of this procedure. Many of the side effects, however, are due to improper administration, not the treatment itself.
Dubrow is also not the only reality star to use IV hydration for weight loss. Lisa Rinna and Yolanda Hadid took the treatment right in front of the cameras.
There’s also the fact that Dubrow’s husband, Terry Dubrow, is a medical doctor and would probably know if the treatment is too risky for their children.
Speaking of Terry, he is currently battling a major lawsuit with a former patient. Terry allegedly worked on a woman for the show, Botched, and she is suing him for $3 million because she did not like how things turned out.

The segment never made it to the show because the patient refused to allow producers to air her final results.
After the news broke, Dubrow defended her husband on Twitter and assured fans that he did nothing wrong.
“Extortion WON’T Be TOLERATED! Love you [Dr. Dubrow]! You’re a caring and brilliant doctor!” she wrote.
Heather Dubrow, who appeared on the Real Housewives of Orange County for 5 seasons, has not commented on the backlash she got for using the controversial IV treatment.
