Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Apollo Nida went to federal prison back in 2014 after receiving an eight-year sentence for a $2.3 million money laundering scheme. But after serving just half of his sentence, Peter Thomas seems to think that Nida is on his way home. Is it possible Nida could be getting an early release?
In a recent Instagram post, Thomas wrote, “My dude is getting ready to come HOME @apollonida03,” along with a pic from Nida’s Instagram page.
According to Atlanta Black Star, the post definitely got fans talking, and most seemed excited about the idea of Nida coming home early, while others remained skeptical.

RHOA covered the aftermath of Nida’s case and sentencing, including the changes his estranged wife Phaedra Parks had to deal with concerning their two children. Cast members also took sides in the matter, and Thomas always seemed to have Nida’s back. But, in December 2015, Cynthia Bailey’s ex accused Thomas of being a fake friend.
Later, Nida’s team elaborated on what the message meant, and explained that Nida respected Thomas’ “drive and business sense,” but he was hurt because it had been over a year since he had heard from Thomas.
Nida thought he and Thomas were friends, and on is part, the relationship was never fake. He also said that their friendship started with fans watching, so he thought it would be ok to let them know how he feels.
Thomas responded, “Wow!! Fake friend, never that, my number hasn’t [sic] change. Still holding it down for everyone I love, including you my brother.”
They did eventually repair their friendship a few days later with a phone call. And during season nine, Thomas introduced Nida’s fiancée, Sherien Almufti, to the housewives.
Now, Parks and Almufti are enemies who began feuding back in December 2016 when Almufti captioned a pic of herself watching RHOA, “Catching up on the #RHOA life wow!! So your s**t does stink after all #TeamApolloandSherien.”

Then on social media, Almufti called Parks a “hypocrite” for slamming Kenya Moore after she threw a divorce party for her and Cynthia Bailey.
RHOA fired Parks last season after she started the rumor that Kandi Burruss wanted to drug and rape Porsha Williams.
But, Almufti will appear on TV soon in the upcoming season premiere of Say Yes to The Dress: Atlanta, and she recently asked her followers on Instagram who was going to watch. Then, she told them that they needed to see which dress she chooses, and she knows Nida will love it.
Apollo Nida proposed to Almufti while behind bars at Fort Dix Correctional Facility, and his release date is currently set for August 29, 2020.
New episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo later this year.
