An album from Neil Young that was never released will finally get the chance to be heard by fans, a report from Page Six revealed. According to the outlet, Neil chose to shelve it at the time because of a broken heart he endured many years ago.

In 2019, Neil Young claimed that his record, Homegrown , would finally be dropped in 2020. It was originally recorded in the middle of the 1970s, however, fans will get the chance to listen to it on the 19th of June, 2020. One of the songs featured is "Try," which is online now.

Young confirmed the album's drop recently, stating that he was sorry for shelving it. It should've come out shortly after the release of Harvest but it was the "sad side of a love affair. The damage done," the artist remarked.

According to the legendary performing artist, he wanted to release it, but it was just too painful to listen to. Neil says he wanted to "move on" with his life. For that reason, he hid the album away from his fans and from the record label.

Now that he looks back on it, Young explained, he wishes he would've just released it. He said it's "actually beautiful." Neil went on to say that sometimes life hurts people, and for that reason, it would've been perfect to release it.

Neil has been in the news for other reasons over the last year, including when Todd Malm reported back in January of this year that the performing artist got his hands on a duel US-Canada citizenship not long after his arrest on marijuana charges.

The 74-year-old was spotted waving around his paperwork alongside Daryl Hannah at the beginning of the year. At the start of 2020, Neil wrote that he was "happy to report in," urging fans of his to vote their "conscience."

The previous year, Neil said he wanted to vote in the United States election but he wasn't able to on account of marijuana charges at the United States-Canada border.
