That’s right. People do, in fact, get older as time goes on. The previous statement is a simple fact that a lot of social media users have had a hard time dealing with.
Following the release of new pictures of the iconic actor, Jet Li, looking a bit older than what he used to nearly twenty years ago, a lot of his fans took to Twitter and Instagram to ask: “what happened to Jet Li?”
In response to the rude comments regarding his aging – as if getting older is the same thing as having cancer – his publicist and manager released a statement to the Washington Post.
Steven Chasman explained that he has had hyperthyroidism for over ten years. However, he’s not suffering anything life-threatening at all.
He wrote similar sentiments to the publication, USA Today: “we appreciate everyone’s concern. But Jet is completely fine.” Despite the issues with his thyroid, Li’s health is in top-notch shape.
He’s just gotten a lot older, as he’s now 55-years-old. Either way, hyperthyroidism is a difficult illness to deal with. And he isn’t the only one to cope with it either.
Wendy Williams struggles and so does Gigi Hadid. As it was previously reported, Jet posed for photographs in Tibet on Saturday and in the photo, it looked like a person was holding him up. You can see one of the pictures on his Instagram above.
It was a different image than what fans have come to expect of him, considering his past roles in films like, “Romeo Must Die,” “The Expendables,” and “Kiss The Dragon.” Li has gone down in history as an action-movie legend.
And this isn’t the first time he’s addressed such rumors either. During an interview with Singapore’s The Straight Times, Jet Li said, “there is nothing to worry about my health.”
