As fans of Saturday Night Live know, Mr. Kenan Thompson is the longest-running cast member on SNL, ever. Following sixteen seasons on the show, Kenan won his very first Emmy recently, and now, he has his very own production on the way.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Kenan will star in a new show called Saving Larry for NBC. Lorne Michaels, the SNL juggernaut, as well as the Superstore writer, Jackie Clarke, will work on Kenan’s new series.
Reportedly, Kenan will star as a widowed father, left to take care of his kids with a helicopter father-in-law watching his every move. Fans are wondering if he’ll be leaving Saturday Night Live, but thus far, that hasn’t been confirmed.
THR claims Kenan will depart the legendary sketch comedy series, but it isn’t a certainty. If Thompson continues to have a starring role in Saturday Night Live, that means he’ll be a very busy man.
Recently, the 40-year-old comic became a father to another child with his wife, Christina Evangeline. They had their second baby on the 31st of July, Tuesday.
Kenan and Evangeline, 29, share a four-year-old child, Georgia Marie, in addition to a six-pound baby named Gianna Michelle. Just two days before she gave birth, Christina took to her Instagram to reveal her pregnancy.
“We have less than five days until this little girl is due and I’m just too excited.” Previously, on the 28th of July, Christina posted a picture of her baby bump on Instagram.
As fans of the couple know, they rarely show what’s going on in their private life. It’s understandable, due to Kenan’s infamy as an SNL mainstay.
