Melania Trump likes to keep her private life away from prying eyes. While her time in Washington has been plagued with a handful of controversies, it isn’t clear what the First Lady actually does on a daily basis — until now. Here’s an inside look at Melania’s average day in the White House.
The majority of Melania’s day is filled with meetings. Melania once told her Twitter followers that she had a productive day jammed with meetings. But what kind of meetings are talking about?
Last year, Melania met a lot with Donald Trump and the Secretary of Health and Human Services in regard to the opioid problem in America. The First Lady pledged to make the opioid crisis one of her top priorities and even released a statement about the epidemic.
“Opioid abuse is an escalating health crisis affecting countless families across the country,” she explained. “The well-being of children is a priority for the first lady, and this epidemic affects them in many different ways, so she requested to attend today’s briefing.”
When she isn’t in meetings, Melania is taking care of her only son, Barron. Melania famously delayed her move to Washington so that Barron could finish out the school year in New York. Melania and Trump have a nanny for Barron, but the First Lady takes pride in raising him as much as she can.
It isn’t known how much work Melania actually does for Barron on a daily basis, but we know that she does the basics like preparing his lunch and dropping him off at school. Outside of that it’s probably safe to say that the nanny takes care of the bulk of the work.
When Barron is out of the house, Melania makes sure to get a good workout in. In one interview the former model revealed that she enjoys shorter workouts throughout the day and follows a strict diet. This includes eating plenty of fruit and avoiding unhealthy snacks.
Aside from her normal daily activities, Melania seems to be getting more and more comfortable with her role as First Lady as her time in the White House goes forward.
She recently set off on her first solo trip to Africa — where she made stops in Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, and Egypt — and it was all to highlight just how much U.S. Foreign Aid is helping children in those impoverished countries.
And after all of the drama surrounding her husband’s affair with Stormy Daniels, Melania Trump also spoke out about the #MeToo movement for the first time.
“I support the women and they need to be heard,” she said. “We need to support them, and also men, not just women.”
