Fire Breaks Out At Coachella After Janelle Monaé And Childish Gambino
According to a report from Harper's Bazaar, Coachella of 2019 has already encountered some setbacks and dilemmas, with a spontaneous fire breaking out near the location.
After the first night which saw the likes of Childish Gambino and Janelle Monae, in addition to Cardi B and Selena Gomez who briefly appeared during DJ Snake's set, a fire broke out near one of the United States' biggest concert festivals.
One Twitter user took to the social media platform to say that, "all seriousness this wasn't a cool thing to wake up to," as well as a picture of the explosion which supposedly occurred due to a propane gas tank. However, at a later date, the tweet was deleted from Twitter.
Reportedly, the CAL Fire and Riverside Fire Department went to the scene.
Thankfully, the first responders came directly to the source of the explosion and determined there were no casualties or other injuries. If it really turned out to be a bad explosion that harmed people, it wouldn't be the first time a festival has ended in disaster.
In 2017, the world saw the consequences of the hyped 2017 Fyre Festival, advertised by some of the most prominent social media influencers and rapper, Ja Rule.
The event was a massive disaster that saw thousands of people on the Bahamian islands with hardly any water, food, or other amenities. While they were no reported deaths, the incident was widely reported on, especially the viral image of the sandwich with cheese in a styrofoam container.
Unlike Fyre Festival, Coachella has been successfully received since its inception in 1999. Last year, they had on their main stage Eminem, Beyonce, and The Weeknd, and the previous year before that: Radiohead, Lady Gaga, as well as Kendrick Lamar.
For 2019, the organizers hired Tame Impala, Ariana Grande, and Childish Gambino. They had Kanye West in talks to perform, however, they couldn't meet his demand for a special stage.
